Hi, I'm DJ Ruffness.
I'm the DJ behind Feel the Presha Entertainment. I've been DJing for around 30 years, with a career that's taken me from private parties and celebrations to clubs, festivals and some seriously big dancefloors. I've had some incredible experiences along the way, but this page isn't here to give you my DJ CV. What matters is what those 30 years have taught me — and how I can use that experience to give you a brilliant night.
So, where did “Presha” come from?
Long before Feel the Presha Entertainment, I ran my own club promotions across East Anglia called Presha.
Those years were a huge part of my DJ career.
I played clubs, festivals and events around the UK, including multiple appearances for Garage Nation, as well as spending summer seasons DJing overseas in Ibiza, Ayia Napa and Kos.
There were big crowds, late nights and quite a few flyers with my name on them.
If you were going out around East Anglia back then, some of these names might bring back a few memories — Oscars in Clacton, Hollywoods, The Attic, Opium Lounge, Trader Jacks, Pals and Vodka Revolution. If you’re 40+ and remember those nights, there’s a good chance you danced to my music at some point. Don’t worry, I won’t ask you to prove it — what happened on the dancefloor in the 90s and 2000s can stay there.
Back then I could also do an entire night behind the decks without wondering why my back hurt the following morning. Those really were the days.
Some of those flyers have aged better than others.
The Presha name stayed with me, and when the time came to build a new mobile DJ business, bringing it back felt right.
Feel the Presha Entertainment is a new business.
But the experience behind it definitely isn’t new.

Yes, I love garage. No, I don't only play garage.
My background in the club scene means UK Garage will always be part of my musical history.
But Feel the Presha isn’t a specialist Garage-only DJ service.
Far from it.
Over 30 years, I’ve played to too many different crowds for that.
Depending on the event, a night might move through current music, house, R&B, disco, Motown, 80s, 90s, 00s, indie, dance, garage and plenty more besides.
The skill isn’t being able to list lots of genres.
It’s knowing which direction to go next without making the dancefloor feel like somebody has pressed shuffle. That’s what experience gives you.
From clubs to private parties
Playing a club and DJing a private event are very different jobs.
In a club, people have usually arrived because they already know what kind of music they’re going to hear.
At a birthday or family celebration, you might have several generations standing on the same dancefloor.
One group wants something current.
Another wants the songs they grew up going out to.
Someone else has been waiting patiently for Motown.
And there’s nearly always one person who has a very specific request and would quite like to know exactly when I’m going to play it.
That’s where being versatile matters.
My job isn’t to prove how clever my music collection is.
It’s to make the room work.
Why come back to mobile DJing now?
Life changed.
Family and kids came along, priorities shifted and DJing took a back seat for a while.
But the music never went anywhere.
I’m older now. The hair has changed, various parts of my body make noises they definitely didn’t make in the 90s, and recovering from a late night requires slightly more planning than it used to.
What hasn’t changed is how I feel about music.
I still love finding a great song. I still love that moment when you know exactly what needs to come next. And I still get the same buzz from watching a dancefloor suddenly come alive.
That’s ultimately why Feel the Presha Entertainment exists.
I’m not trying to relive my clubbing years. My knees have formally objected to that proposal.
I’m taking everything those years taught me and bringing it into what I am now: an experienced, versatile party DJ who genuinely enjoys playing for people of all ages.
The equipment is new. The presentation is sharper. The DJ has considerably more miles on the clock. But the enthusiasm for music is exactly where I left it.
Experience matters. Ego doesn't.
I’ve been fortunate enough to play some big events, work alongside some brilliant people and DJ in front of crowds numbering in the thousands.
I’m genuinely proud of that part of my life.
But I’m under no illusion that anybody booking me for a birthday party wants to spend the evening listening to stories about what DJ Ruffness was doing in Ibiza 30 years ago.
You’ve got your own party happening.
That’s considerably more important.
My history matters because of what it taught me: how to read people, change direction, handle different generations and know when the dancefloor is telling me to leave well enough alone.
These days I’m perfectly happy going from something I once played to thousands of clubbers to the song that gets somebody’s nan onto the dancefloor. If it works, it works.
That’s probably the biggest difference between experience and ego.
The party isn’t there to watch me DJ. I’m there to help make the party.
The person behind the DJ booth
When you enquire with Feel the Presha, you’re dealing with me.
When we talk about your event, you’re talking to the person who’s actually going to DJ it.
And when the night arrives, I’m the person turning up behind the booth.
I think that matters.
It means I know what we’ve discussed, what you’re looking for and the little details you’ve mentioned along the way.
I’m professional about what I do, but I’m also approachable.
You should feel comfortable telling me what you want, what you don’t want and asking questions without feeling as though you’re dealing with an entertainment agency.
It’s your party.
I’m just the bloke you’ve trusted with a fairly important part of it.
A bloke with 30 years of DJ experience, admittedly — but still the bloke who’ll happily play the song that gets your auntie dancing if that’s what the room needs.
