Parties & Events

The right music. The right energy. Your kind of party.

From 16ths and 18ths through to 21sts, 30ths, 40ths, 50ths, 60ths and everything in between, I provide birthday DJ entertainment across Ipswich, Suffolk and beyond — with every celebration having its own crowd, its own music and its own idea of a great night. Add engagements, anniversaries, reunions and family celebrations into the mix and there's really no such thing as a standard party. That's exactly how I like it.

Milestone Birthdays

The age on the invitation gives us a starting point. It doesn’t dictate the night.

A 16th shouldn’t feel like a 50th with younger guests, and a 50th shouldn’t feel like somebody has searched for “50th birthday playlist” and pressed shuffle.

The music, atmosphere and presentation should suit the people actually in the room.

16th & 18th Birthday Parties

For a 16th or 18th, getting the music right matters. Younger crowds know exactly what’s current and which tunes they want to hear, so there’s nowhere to hide behind a generic “teen party” playlist.

Whether that’s Tech House, UK Rap, current chart, dance, R&B or whatever has suddenly become the tune everybody knows this week, I’ll make sure the music feels current to the people actually celebrating.

Fortunately, I have two fairly ruthless in-house music consultants: my own sons are 17 and 18.

They make absolutely certain I know what’s current — whether I’ve asked for the update or not.

And parents, don’t panic. I know you may be funding the party while slowly realising you don’t recognise half the tunes being requested. I’ve got you covered too.

With 30 years behind the decks, I can move across genres and generations, so there’ll be plenty for parents, family and friends as the night develops — without hijacking a 16th or 18th and turning it into Mum and Dad’s reunion tour.

Current enough for the dancefloor.
Professional enough for the person paying the bill.

21st Birthday Parties

A 21st usually brings together two very different groups.

Friends want the tunes they actually go out to. Family want to celebrate with you. And somewhere in the room there’s normally a relative patiently waiting for their opportunity to request something released before you were born.

The trick is making all of that work together without turning your 21st into somebody else’s party.

Your favourite tunes and current music — including Tech House, UK Rap, current chart, dance and R&B where that’s your thing — stay at the heart of the night, with the right throwbacks and crowd-pleasers brought in when they work.

Tell me what you and your friends are into, give me the must-plays and let me know what isn’t getting anywhere near the speakers.

I’ll take it from there.

30th Birthday Parties

A 30th can go in almost any direction.

It might be a big night out with everyone you know, or a stylish venue, drinks with friends and a dancefloor that builds as the evening goes on.

The music can bring together the songs you grew up with, favourites from nights out over the years and what’s working now — without turning the whole evening into a nostalgia night.

Because turning 30 doesn’t mean the party suddenly needs to become sensible.

There’s plenty of time for that later.

40th & 50th Birthday Parties

Now we’re getting into familiar territory.

If you’re planning a 40th or 50th, there’s a very good chance I grew up with a lot of the same music you did. I’m in the same age bracket, so when you talk about the songs, clubs and nights out you remember, you’re not explaining them to somebody who has just discovered them on a playlist.

I was there too.

That makes these parties particularly good fun to DJ.

We can bring together the songs that soundtracked our younger years with the classics everybody knows and newer music that works with the room — especially when friends, family and several generations are sharing the same dancefloor.

And if house, dance or garage played a big part in your nights out, there’s no reason that side of you has to disappear because there’s now a four or five at the beginning of your age.

With the Feel More Presha and Full Presha packages, we can also build more atmosphere around the room with uplighting and UV, while Full Presha adds deeper sound and vertical smoke effects where the venue allows.

Not an attempt to recreate a nightclub from 1998.

We’d probably need a later licence for that.

60th Birthdays & Beyond

A great dancefloor doesn’t have an upper age limit.

These celebrations often bring several generations together, which gives us decades of brilliant songs to work with — from Motown, soul and disco through the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, alongside later favourites and whatever else suits your crowd.

You bring the generations.
I’ll work on getting them onto the same dancefloor.
